More Than A Feelin’

Five choirs of MAPC’s graded community children’s choir program – totaling over 140 choristers – will present a concert featuring works that explore a range of emotions from happiness to melancholy, love to despair, and everything in between! Music of Handel, Schubert, and Broadway. The proceeds from the concert will benefit the NYCCC Tuition Aid Fund.
A Halloween duo organ recital performed by MAPC’s resident organists! Arrangements and original repertoire for 2 and 4-hands includes Saint-Saëns’ “Danse Macabre”, Wagner’s “Ride of the Valkyries”, and works by P. D. Q. Bach, Mulet Gottfried Federlein and Petr Eben.

Celebrating his 10th Anniversary at Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church, Director of Music & Organist Andrew Henderson will perform a recital of favorite organ works, including Franck’s monumental and expressive Trois Pièces (1878) for organ, plus works by Pachelbel, Saint-Saëns, Howells, Seth Bingham and John Weaver.

“France en Musique”
As part of an annual city-wide festival showcasing students and faculty from Mannes College—The New School for Music, the afternoon’s program features piano and chamber works by Franck, Saint-Saëns, Debussy, Ravel, Honegger and Messiaen, along with Poulenc’s “Sonata for Flute & Piano” and songs by Fauré and Satie.
