Celebrating his 10th Anniversary at Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church, Director of Music & Organist Andrew Henderson will perform a recital of favorite organ works, including Franck’s monumental and expressive Trois Pièces (1878) for organ, plus works by Pachelbel, Saint-Saëns, Howells, Seth Bingham and John Weaver.

Celebrating his 10th Season as MAPC’s Director of Music & Organist, Andrew Henderson will be joined by the Saint Andrew Orchestra’s brilliant concertmaster performing works for violin and organ. Hailed as a strong violinist by The New York Times, Honduran-born Jorge Ávila has won attention as an outstanding violinist through numerous appearances as a soloist, recitalist, concertmaster, and chamber musician. Their program will include solo and duo works, including a Bach violin sonata, and works by Rheinberger, Kreisler, Bartók and Chris DeBlasio.

“France en Musique”

As part of an annual city-wide festival showcasing students and faculty from Mannes College—The New School for Music, the afternoon’s program features piano and chamber works by Franck, Saint-Saëns, Debussy, Ravel, Honegger and Messiaen, along with Poulenc’s “Sonata for Flute & Piano” and songs by Fauré and Satie.

Admission to the Saint Andrew Music Society's Music on Madison concerts is by suggested donation at the door: $20 ($15 Students/62+); children 12 & under: free.
