As part of the annual city-wide festival, Mannes Sounds, featuring gifted students from Mannes College—The New School for Music, faculty and guest performers, the afternoon’s program will include Poulenc’s Sextet for Winds & Piano; Barber’s Variations on a Shape-Note Theme; and fascinating chamber and vocal works by three Polish composers of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries: Chopin, Wieniawski, Szymanowski, and Darius Przybyliski.
