TENET Vocal Artists is visiting England and Scotland for a two-week tour highlighting the music of celebrated composer Thomas Tomkins. Known for his beautiful text-painting, chromaticism, and anachronistic polyphonic writing, TENET’s performance honors the 450th anniversary of Tomkins’ birth.
Following the ensemble’s New York City concert at Saint Thomas Fifth Avenue on Saturday, April 23, 2022, TENET’s appearances include six prominent venues with vocal and organ works by Tomkins and his contemporaries including William Byrd, Thomas Morley, Orlando Gibbons, and a new work by composer and bass-baritone Jonathan Woody in collaboration with celebrated local organists.
