Acis announces a new CD: Symphonic Roar: An Odyssey of Sound from the Paris Conservatoire (APL97957), featuring Yuri McCoy, organist, and Brady Spitz, percussionist.

The disc, surveying a century of music by composers affiliated with the Paris Conservatory, includes works by Guilmant, Bonnet, Saint-Saëns, Vierne, and Florentz.

Amériques, originally composed in 1922 by Varese, was transcribed by McCoy, including percussion. A third performer was necessary to work the siren, crow call, train whistle, and cyclone whistle.
