The Church of St. Ignatius Loyola announces the 25th anniversary season of its Sacred Music in a Sacred Space series. In his second year at the helm, artistic director K. Scott Warren has planned offerings of masterworks and chamber-sized works from the Roman Catholic, Russian Orthodox, German Lutheran, and Jewish faiths.
Season highlights include Rachmaninoff’s mystical All-Night Vigil; a meditation on the Passion for Lent with music by Schütz, Bach, and Mozart; and a program of early Baroque renditions of the Psalms. In addition to its annual Christmas concerts and Advent Lessons and Carols service, SMSS welcomes Chanticleer.
The season is rounded out by the N.P. Mander Organ Recital series featuring a quartet of organists—Warren, Mary Preston, Andrew Henderson, and Nancianne Parrella.
