On Sunday, August 2, The Estey Organ Museum in Brattleboro, Vermont, will host a multi-media event followed by a tea on the loading dock. This is in celebration of the museum's newest instrument, Estey pipe organ, opus 2819, the so-called Fred Feibel organ.
The performance will focus on Estey's role in the world of pipe organs in theaters. Attendees will see and hear some of these instruments, including rare recordings. From London to Keene to New York to Seattle Esteys were installed in these "popular" settings. Though not nearly as prolific as those of the Wurlitzer or Kimball organ companies, most companies sought to have a part of this lucrative market.
This event is a fundraiser for the museum, and admission is $25 for singles and $40 for couples. Payment may be mailed directly to the museum. For further details, email [email protected].
