Music Marathon to benefit Cleveland Beckerath

Florence Mustric

For 15 years Florence Mustric has performed on the historic Beckerath pipe organ at Trinity Lutheran, near the West Side Market in Cleveland.

On Sunday, November 8, starting at 2 p.m., she will play a Music Marathon to benefit the restoration of the Beckerath organ.

Her goal is $20,000, the amount needed to finish the Pedal division and to approximately reach the mid-point of this $300,000 project.

To sponsor Florence:

The goal boils down to $75 per minute. She has a play list of faves, over 4 hours of music, with selections running the gamut from J.S. Bach favorites to a modern rhumba. Pieces range from 2 minutes (Pink Panther fugue or a Brahms prelude) all the way to Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.

Angels ($1,000) will be guests at a post-Marathon celebration at Fat Cats, thanks to chef Ricardo Sandoval.

Instead of water breaks, there will be cameo appearances by critic-author Robert Finn, jazz-pianist-composer-golfer Marshall Griffith, WCLV-alumna Rebecca Fischer Knab, and comedian-rainmaker  Carol Rivchun.
