It is with great excitement that we invite you to enjoy a free recital at The Noack Organ Company in Georgetown, MA on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 2:00 PM.  

 

Daniel E. Lawhon, organist, with participation of soprano Sharon Leding Lawhon, will perform works by Buxtehude, Bach, Dandrieu, Brahms, Peeters, Alain and more on the newly completed 28-rank, two-manual tracker organ which will be installed at the Baptist Church of the Covenant in Birmingham, Alabama.

   

A Kentucky native, Dan received a Bachelor of Music degree from Belmont University, studying organ with Helen Trotter Midkiff, and received his Master of Church Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the School of Church Music at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky where he studied organ with Boyd M. Jones, II and Donald P. Hustad. Dan also studied improvisation with Donald P. Hustad.

 

Soprano, Sharon Leding Lawhon is Associate Professor at the School of Arts of Samford University.

The Old West Organ Society is pleased to announce the 2014-15 International Artist Series.  Three performances will be offered on the magnificent C. B. Fisk organ, Op. 55, built in 1971.  All three concerts are on Friday evenings at 8 pm, and are full-length recitals.
