Ryan Chan plays Hubert Parry Fantasia in G Major, Op. 188

1893 Hook & Hastings opus 1573, Christ Church, Rochester, New York. Rebuilt and installed by Wallace & Co. in 2012. Three manuals and pedal, 28 stops.

Ryan Chan is the First Prize and Audience Prize winner of the 2024 American Guild of Organists National Young Artist Competition in Organ Performance.  In 2023, he won Second Prize in the 16th International Gottfried Silbermann Organ Competition, held in Freiberg and Dresden.  He is also the First Prize winner of the 2018 Arthur Poister Scholarship Competition in Organ Playing.

He is pursuing a doctoral degree in organ performance under the tutelage of David Higgs at the Eastman School of Music, and is currently organist at the Rochester Christian Reformed Church. He performs regularly with Eastman’s Collegium Musicum, a baroque ensemble directed by Paul O’Dette and Christel Thielmann.

Opus 81,” covers their restoration work on Hook & Hastings Opus 1192, Saint Alban’s Episcopal Church, Staten Island, New York City;  Opus 1783, Saint James Episcopal Church, Prouts Neck, Scarborough, Maine; Opus 1487, Saint Joseph’s on Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C.;  and their own Opus 81 for Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church, Nashua, New Hampshire.
