Renée Anne Louprette to perform world premiere Sept. 28 at St. Ignatius Loyola in New York City

Church of St. Ignatius Loyola

On Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 7:30 PM, organist Renée Anne
Louprette will perform a program spanning centuries of organ music.

The program opens with gems from Spanish composers of the 16th-18th
centuries. Closing the first half is a selection by Swiss
organist/composer Guy Bovet (b. 1942), a specialist of Hispanic organ
music.

The second half of the program features two selections by 20th
century French composer Jehan Alain, including his most famous work,
Litanies.

The recital ends with the world premiere of Diptyque –
Mannahatta 1611-2011
by organist/composer David Briggs. The work,
commissioned by Ms. Louprette, depicts the story of Manhattan from
unsettled forest to cosmopolitan capital.

The performance will take place at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola,
980 Park Avenue at 84th Street, New York, NY 10028.
