The English Organ special offer

The English Organ

1) Brief Description of Project:

The English Organ, a "dazzling showcase of repertoire and instruments" (Gramophone Magazine), presented by Daniel Moult and filmed over more than a year in forty locations in three continents, is the definitive film project about the story of the English organ and its music over five hundred years. "Emphatically and urgently recommended," reviewed Fanfare Magazine, "This is one of the most important organ recordings of all time, and a model of how music documentaries ought to be done."

Daniel Moult presents three feature length documentaries, as well as performing more than ten hours of repertoire from Byrd to the present on thirty-three organs. There are also demonstrations of all thirty-three organs. In total there are seventy-nine films. This series of films is the magnum opus of Fugue State Films, and will appeal to anyone with an interest in music, the organ or English history. It is a magnificent portrait of an instrument and a culture.

Available on both DVD and Vimeo.
