Dr. J. Butz Musikverlag announces new organ publications.

Brauweiler Orgelbuch (BU3140) celebrates the 1,000th anniversary of Brauweiler Abbey near Cologne in 2024. Ten composers with ties to the abbey were commissioned to create new works. Compiled by Michael Utz, this collection includes both chorale-based and free works of medium to advanced difficulty, such as “Brauweiler Blues.”

Tre Pezzi per Organo (BU3139) is composed by the German Italian Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari (1876–1948), known for his operas, chamber music, and songs. Written around 1895, these short Romantic works are here published for the first time and are useful for concerts or in church services on a two-manual organ.

Johann Sebastian Bach’s Herr, unser Herrscher (BU3144) comprises 20 transcriptions of choruses, arias, and chorales from the St. Matthew and St. John passions. These pieces are of varied difficulty, useful for concerts or services.
