Dessoff Choirs French Fête

The Dessoff Choirs continues its season with a French Fête program on February 26, 2:30 p.m., at St. Jean Baptiste Church, New York City.

This concert, under the direction of Music Director/Conductor Malcolm J. Merriweather, celebrates the 20th anniversary of Dessoff’s pianist Steven Ryan, and features Dr. Raymon Nagem, Associate Organist at the Cathedral of St John the Divine.

The program takes advantage of the Wicks organ and acoustics at Saint Jean Baptiste as the choirs showcase Jean Langlais’ Messe Solennelle for choir and organ. Other works include Debussy’s Chansons D’Orléans, Marcel Dupré’s Quatre Motets, op. 9, and pieces by Reynaldo Hahn and Lili Boulanger. Steven Ryan will be featured as piano soloist in Ondine from Gaspard de la Nuit by Ravel and Toccata from 3 Pièces by Poulenc.
