2022 Midwest Regional Carillon Conference

The 2022 Midwest Regional Carillon Conference will be held November 4–5 at the Rochester Carillon, housed in the Plummer Building of the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota.

This event will feature recitals by Austin Ferguson, Laura Ellis, and Claire Janezic, including a duet performance of Ronald Barnes’s A Carillon Concerto for Two to Play, composed for the Rochester Carillon and premiered at the 1981 Guild of Carillonneurs in North America congress by the composer and Richard Strauss. There will also be lectures and open tower time.

28th Texas Regional Carillon Conference

The 28th Texas Regional Carillon Conference will take place October 22–23 at the University of Texas at Austin. Events include recitals by Austin Ferguson and Kimberly Schafer, a presentation by Alex Johnson (a member of The Diapason’s 20 Under 30 Class of 2021) on the structure of Roy Hamlin Johnson’s New River Nocturne, a presentation by Jesse Ratcliffe on reviving dormant carillons, and a masterclass by Carol Jickling Lens. 2022 Guild of Carillonneurs in North America proposals

The Guild of Carillonneurs in North America has called for proposals for its 2022 congress, to be hosted by the University of Chicago, June 16–19, 2022. Proposals are open to anyone (including non-members) to present lectures, masterclasses, and workshops. The deadline for proposals is October 1, 2021.
