Giovanni Pergolesi: Magnificat

To open their 48th Season, the Saint Andrew Chorale and Orchestra will present two rarely-performed works composed by Handel for the Duke of Chandos, bristling with choral energy and contrasting introspective solo arias and duets. In Harmony, a new ensemble of the New York City Children’s Chorus, will join the Chorale in performing Pergolesi’s tuneful Magnificat for chorus, soloists and string orchestra.
