Performing History: The Italian Baroque Organ and Its Cultural Intersections
GENERAL INFORMATION
A four-day festival (22-25 October) of concerts, masterclasses, and paper sessions, marking the tenth anniversary of the installation of Eastman’s Italian Baroque Organ at the Memorial Art Gallery, Rochester, NY.
All events are free and open to the public. Concerts and masterclasses take place in the Fountain Court of the Memorial Art Gallery (MAG). Paper sessions will be in the MAG Auditorium. Concert seating is limited. Concert tickets should be reserved in advance at [email protected].

A liturgical recreation of Zipoli’s Missa a San Ignacio, written for the Jesuit missions in early 18th century South America, with concerted mass movements, organ solos, choral motets, and chant.

The inauguration of Eastman’s Italian Baroque Organ at MAG in October 2005 was celebrated with a ten-day festival, including a recital given by Eastman’s three organ professors at that time. Ten years later, this concert reunites these renowned performers in a varied program showcasing the colors of the Italian Baroque Organ.
