The Diapason October 2017 Newsletter

October 21, 2017

Here in the Midwest, the autumn colors are nearly at their peak. At The Diapason, we are now working on our 2018 Resource Directory of businesses in the world of the organ, harpsichord, carillon, and church music. The directory is mailed each year with our January issue. If your business would like to advertise in this publication, the only one of its kind in the United States, an item referred to by readers time and again, be sure to contact Jerome Butera ([email protected]) before November 1. Do you need to update your business entry in the Resource Directory, or is your business not yet listed in the directory? Send your information to me ([email protected]) by November 15.

If you haven’t visited our website recently, be sure to do so! We constantly update our website with news stories, calendar events (including those that come to our attention too late for publication in our print edition), PDF’s of past issues, videos, and much more. The staff of The Diapason is presently working on a digital edition of our print edition to offer to subscribers in 2018. The digital edition is not intended to replace the print edition, but rather to give our subscribers a choice in how they obtain their news from us.

Our newsletter sponsor for October is the Reuter Organ Company of Lawrence, Kansas (www.reuterorgan.com). Reuter is celebrating a century of organbuilding. Their cover feature in the October issue spotlights three of their recent organs: Trinity Lutheran Church, Houston, Texas; Central United Methodist Church, Traverse City, Michigan; and St. John’s United Church of Christ, Lansdale, Pennsylvania. The Diapason congratulates the Reuter firm on this landmark event in their history!
