The Diapason January 2016 Newsletter

January 22, 2016

Welcome to THE DIAPASON eNEWS.

As we begin the new year, we remind you of upcoming programs and events.

Our 2016 class of “20 under 30” will soon be selected. We are looking for 20 men and women under 30 years of age who are already exhibiting superior accomplishments, leadership, creativity, and innovative thinking. You may nominate anyone in our field—organist, organ builder/technician, choral director, harpsichordist, carillonneur—who has not reached the age of 30 by January 31, 2016. You can submit nominations until February 1, 2016, at TheDiapason.com (click on 20 under 30). Only those nominated can be considered for this award. We cannot accept self-nominations, or nominations of previous winners.

THE DIAPASON, along with the Chicago, Fox Valley, and North Shore AGO chapters, the Chicago-Midwest chapter of the OHS, and the Music Institute of Chicago, will sponsor a conference April 24–25 in Evanston, Illinois, celebrating the work of Ernest M. Skinner. The conference performers and presenters include the a cappella chamber chorus Bella Voce, organists David Jonies and Andrew Schaeffer (one of our “20 under 30” Class of 2015), and lecturers Joyce Robinson and Stephen Schnurr. We hope you will attend.

Our newsletter sponsor is Kegg Pipe Organ Builders. Clicking on their ads will take you to their website.
