Some of composer César Franck’s most significant and beautiful organ works, many owned or on deposit at the Morgan, will be performed by the acclaimed organist Charles Callahan at The Brick Presbyterian Church. In 2005 the church installed an organ (Casavant Frères op. 3837) based on the tonal and mechanical principles of the French organ builder Aristide Cavaillé-Coll, whose instrument at Basilique Ste-Clotilde in Paris influenced many of Franck’s compositions. This concert takes place in the church’s sanctuary. A selection of Franck scores will be on view at the Morgan.
